Chive is a very playful and chaotic not-cat, who loves exploring and discovering new things. Despite often acting as a sort of leader for her small group of not-cats, it's not exactly very responsible or far-thinking, often throwing itself into all sorts of risky situations without hesitation. Thankfully, despite being very good at getting itself into trouble, she's also good at getting out of it, and is one of the strongest and fastest members of the village's main adventuring group. Chive absolutely adores adventuring, and will take any opportunity to go out and explore the woods that it gets.
Chive can be rather blunt: while she's very talkative and friendly, it's not very good at thinking before it speaks, and can often unintentionally come off as rude or insensitive due to this. However, she cares a lot about her village and friends, and tries her best not to hurt anyone's feelings by mistake. It's generally a very positive, cheerful, and upbeat not-cat, even in difficult situations.

Oasis ✧ teammate
Oasis and Chive don't always get along, due to their very different personalities. Oasis is generally careful and reserved, while Chive is much more reckless, chaotic, and adventurous. However, they do both care a lot about each other and are still friends despite their differences.
Rat ✧ teammate
Rat and Chive are both very cheerful and upbeat not-cats, and generally get along pretty well! Rat is much more laid-back than Chive on the whole, but they're both good friends and often spend time together.
Brio ✧ teammate
While Brio and Chive do have somewhat differing personalities, with Brio being much more calm and thoughtful, the two of them are still very good friends, and have been since Chive was very young due to having lived in the same colony during Chive's kittenhood.
Storm and Lichen ✧ old friends
Storm and Lichen are also both friends with Chive, and they're the other two not-cats that it brought with when going through the portal to Not-Earth. They're good friends, even if they don't see eachother around quite as much anymore due to how often Chive is off adventuring.
Mirage ✧ acquaintance
Mirage was the one who, back on Earth, told Chive and its group about the door to Not-Earth that Nestor had created, and about the fact that they were not cats. While Mirage didn't accompany Chive's group on their journey to the door, they later met up again on Not-Earth and Mirage decided to join Twig Village. Chive and Mirage get along fairly well, although they aren't that close.
Olive ✧ cousin
Chive and Olive are distant cousins, and were raised in the same colony together back on Earth. They weren't close before Chive left, or at least not from Chive's side, but young Olive apparently looked up to and admired Chive a lot back than. Olive later made the journey through the door and they met up again on Not-Earth, but both of them are very different to how they remembered eachother from when they were younger, and they aren't all that close now. Chive tries to be nice to Olive, but it does admittedly find her very rebellious nature a little frustrating.

iv. life on earth
Chive was born on Earth to a fairly large colony of not-cats. It had no littermates or older siblings, but was raised alongside another litter of kittens and so was never too lonely during kittenhood. However, the cats of her colony often struggled for food and resources, even with the gifts brought by Nestor, and were generally very skittish and cautious. Chive had always had an adventurous spirit, and this lifestyle didn't suit her, so soon after reaching adulthood, she said her goodbyes and left to make her own way in the world. But she wasn't alone, for one of her friends from the old colony, Brio, decided to join her. Despite Brio being quite a bit older than Chive, the two were good friends, and Brio wanted to make sure that xyr younger friend didn't get into too much trouble on its own.
So, the two set out. They were in a large city, and though the colony had lived too far away for either cat to have seen it before, Chive had heard rumours that the city was near something called 'the ocean'. It took them a long time of travel, as they had to cross the entire city to reach it, but eventually Chive and Brio found themselves at the harbour! It was a good place to get food, so they ended up making themselves at home there. They stayed there for a long while, and in that time they befriended four other cats by the names of Oasis, Lichen, Storm, and Rat. The group of six grew very close, forming almost a small colony of their own. They never expected anything to change in their lifestyle... but one day, something happened that would change it, and change it dramatically. For the small colony met a cat named Mirage, and from them the group heard of the gate that Nestor had created, in another city far across the sea, and they learned that were not cats.
Of course, this was a huge revelation for them, and it took them a while to get their heads around it. But as soon as they did, Chive remembered about the fact that there was apparently a portal to a whole other world somewhere??? And from that moment on, the group's future was set in stone, because no matter how much Oasis tried to convince her that stowing away on a boat, to another city, to try and hop through some weird portal that probably didn't even actually exist, was a horrible and awful idea, Chive refused to give up its determination to do exactly that. And Storm, Lichen, Rat, and Brio were all happy to go along with it. So, despite Oasis protesting and grumbling about it the entire time, that's what the group did. They crossed the sea to the other city, and they found the portal, and they went through it to Not-Earth.

v. life on not-earth
From the instant that Chive fell through the portal in the sky and landed in a soft blanket of snow, it felt at home. It was in its nature to be adventurous, but back on Earth she had always felt, more than that... restless, unsettled. Here, its urge to explore was stronger than ever, but at the same time, she felt, for once, actually comfortable. She sat up, taking a deep breath of the crisp late-winter air, before being knocked flat as Rat fell out of the sky and landed on its head.
Once the six not-cats had recovered from their somewhat rough landing on Not-Earth, they set off for Gardenhome. They spent about a day there, getting more used to this unfamiliar (yet also familiar, somehow???) world, before heading to the south-east where they decided to settle down. They were sort of near the sea, which reminded them of their old home back on Earth, but also near the area known as the Heart of the Woods. This was important to Chive, because she was desperate to explore there. First, though, the group decided that they should make their own little village and even give it a proper name! They spent a while trying to think of a good name for it, until Chive suggested the name Twig Village ("because sticks are cool, but Stick Village sounds weird, so twigs are kind of like sticks, so Twig Village!! Maybe??"), and the others agreed it was a good enough name, at least for the moment.
Although it's only been a very short time since Chive and its friends arrived here on Not-Earth, she's already been having the time of her life with adventuring, exploring, learning to properly hunt, and just generally being in this awesome new place. The longer Chive spends on Not-Earth, the happier she is, and it can't wait to start discovering and exploring more of the world as time goes on!!
