Significant Back-End Work

The majority of this update is back-end work tied to the clean-up of moderation features and creation of new moderator tools.

Tier 2 Job Expansion

Currently the tier 2 jobs (that correspond to crafting occupations) have fairly sparse gathering results. Three of these occupations now have a collectables set that will drop in the very rare pool. Artists will sometimes create doodles, Scribes will sometimes acquire popular books from around Nestor's Wood, and Clothiers will sometimes make plushies with scrap fabric.


The other tier 2 jobs will be gaining their own collectables sets similar to this in the future.


Market and Cat Sales listings now have a comments field!

It is now possible to leave comments when posting items in the marketplace. We feel this will have a variety of potential uses! When you post a listing, there will be a text box where you can leave a comment up to 250 characters long.

You can use this area to indicate any extra information you'd like to make available to the potential buyers. If you are open to offers, haggling, or potential trades, please indicate so here. You can also add additional information such as null carrier, max level gatherer, etc.

Please ONLY use this space for information relevant to this exact listing. There is a report button where you can report any listings with comments that violate the Community Guidelines

Examples of use on a cat listing:

- Open to holds or trades of cats meeting certain criteria. Feel free to PM me to ask!

- Gen2, Carries longhair and null

- Feel free to haggle!

Examples of use on an item listing:

- Willing to trade for the same item in a different color.

- Payment plans available, feel free to ask.


New Forum Categories

The Sales and Trades category has been split into three new categories: Cat Sales & Trades, Item Sales & Trades, and Raffles & Giveaways. The mods and forum helpers will be resorting all of the existing threads over the course of the next week.


Registration Window

The site will be open once again for 48 hours from Friday, July 8th at 18:00 to Sunday, July 10th at 18:00 and will not have a cap to the number of users.

So gather your friends, family, rivals, and sworn enemies and bring them down to make some cats!

This is a good time to make the obligatory reminder about the TOS.

First of all, you agree to only register one account per user, so if you're already here, appreciate your existing cats! Don't make a new account.

Second of all, funneling is not allowed. No account must exist to benefit another account. Getting a friend who has no interest in playing the game on their own to make an account just to send you the cats generated via the random squad is considered a violation of this rule and will result in both accounts being closed. While it is possible to trade cats on the random squad, make sure that you are negotiating fair trades/sales with newbies and that both accounts are playing independently and continue to play independently in the future.

It is unfair to users playing honestly to abuse the sign-up sequence or create alternate accounts to benefit your own.


Bug Fixes

- Trinkets with a negative modifier no longer say "+-1", etc.

- Text on the scene decoration page no longer says "bldgs" instead of "buildings"

- Adoptive littermates page now says it must be done before day 28 instead of day 29, in line with the beans update

- You can now "swap" items in and out of scenes when you are at the maximum without it failing to add the second or eating an item

- Non-adult cats should no longer seem to be rolling significantly negative numbers (or zeroes) on their rolls

- Hitting the gathering button multiple times no longer leads to a blank page and instead gives a "cat has already gathered" error message

- Gather and socials daily buttons on profile no longer stay grey when you have cats for sale or trade that can't gather/participate in scenarios

- Unit sort price now actually sorts by unit price, and all unit prices have been recalculated

- Cat recruitment sorting by stat sum is no longer reversed of what the dropdown says

- When listing something for sale in the marketplace, if you delete the number in "Quantity to sell" and then try to post the listing, the site now gives you an error appropriately and does not take you to a blank page

- Cats can no longer accidentally be added to multiple sales or trades

- An issue with currencies in sales and trades has been corrected

- Cat recruitment search/filter by stat sum now actually works

- Editing your signature to something that is too long now does not delete all of the content when giving an error

- The bottom menubar is no longer escaping on the user search page

- Friends list pagination has been corrected and now has even rows when viewed at max page size

- Apostrophes in adventuring skills and abilities no longer show the HTML code instead of the apostrophe

- The item database no longer overwrites the adventuring drop settings when an item is edited

- The genderfluid held flag has had its image corrected to the right flag

- Pagination for rearranging traveling cats no longer redirects to active ones

- Attempting to rearrange your traveling cats will no longer reset the page order of your first active page instead

- Adopted beans from Nestor are no longer incorrectly classifying sibling instead of nibling on the profiles of the piblings

- Fixed an issue where adult cats weren't generating with Winter birthdays and were generating with less Autumn birthdays than intended

- An issue with bean sizes has been corrected

- Default sort in the market and cat recruitment board now appropriately is Price Lowest -> Highest


What's next?

- Continued work on adventuring! Adventuring is making significant progress, but is still far from release. It is functional, but in the same way as a car with three wheels, no brakes, and a steering wheel that only turns the opposite direction you expect it to. Which is to say that there's a framework there that looks like adventuring, but it still needs a lot of fixes, tweaks, and details. The pre-adventuring update is still another couple of months away.

- Additional small new content updates, bug fixes, etc. as a treat.

Hopefully I've not forgotten anything in this update post, but I'll add to it if I did.

These are so cute!! And I'm glad the tier 2's finally got some other drops- they were looking a little bare and do-only-as-necessary, so very happy about those. Maybe some trinkets in the future for them as well?
