I’m not sure if this is actually a bug or they’re intentionally extremely rare, but! I was talking to my friends last night about how we never see minks and it got me thinking… I couldn’t help but notice that mink is the only pattern no one has reported getting in the g1 cat data thread, and even Squid mentioned having none in the pattern stat discussion - the only person there who does have minks only has g2s. So I decided to go through the forums, discord, countless villages… and ALL the minks I could find were either custom cats or born in Nestor’s Wood, never migrated from Earth. I couldn’t even get one to show up in the cat randomizer after refreshing a ton (both last night and this morning) and seeing every other pattern many times! I’m starting to think it’s not possible to get one from Nestor or in your starter squad at all, but if anyone can prove me wrong please let me know

I don’t have much of anything to add but I’m definitely curious about this as well! If this is an intentionally low percentage that just hasn’t thrown any minks yet, is there any chance of it being modified to have a higher chance of attainability?

Okay I've fixed the issue. If you want to know the specifics (for the gene nerds out there), here's what was happening:

There are four different genes, "T", "M", "S", and "P".

There was a typo when attempting to add the "S" gene to the second position that would check what was in the first position instead.

This means that.

TT = okay
TM = okay
TS = okay
TP = overridden by the S, becomes TS

MT = okay
MM = okay
MS = okay
MP = overriden by the S, becomes MS

ST = okay
SM = okay
SS = okay
SP = overriden by the S, becomes SS

PT = okay
PM = okay
PS = impossible combination that could not generate and skipped, becoming PP
PP = okay

They should start generating now! I don't know why I didn't think something was suspicious because mink should theoretically be more common than colorpoint.

This was an OLD bug if it showed up on the front page too, which I'll fix next. That means this issue has been there since the site wasn't even a pet site in progress and was just a funny little random cat generator.

Starting now, the probabilities should shift a lot because this was a pretty major issue I have NO idea how I never noticed this ghskdjfkd
