Cats & Genetics
A lot of the terms are introduced in
this tutorial so I won't go over all of them again, just mention the most used ones and add some player-made vocabulary.
Adol: Shorthand for adolescent.
Albeano: Albino bean.
Albino: A cat with intensity 10 white spotting. The color of the eyes depends on the white spotting group.
Ascension: Not-cats don't grow old, they only grow more powerful. They ascend to their final form after making a pact with a Guardian, giving them a significant boost in stats and extra features like wings, antlers, extra eyes, and halos.
Aspect: One of Not-Earth's 10 elements not-cats can have an affinity for. Cats have a chance of unlocking theirs by visiting the daily crystal. Not yet implemented.
Baking: During the beancloud stage, beans are said to be baking, or
in the oven (analogy with coffee beans)
Beancloud: The state between conception and birth, where the expected beans are a silhouette in a swirling fog.
Bino: Short for albino.
Bluebino: Blue-eyed albino, from the left white spotting group.
BST: Base Stat Total. It does not include bonuses.
Carrier: A cat that has
one allele of a recessive trait, meaning they don't express it but their children can if the other parent carries the same recessive as well.
Dilute: A recessive gene that is expressed as pale colors. Current groups: Grey, Cream.
DoB: Date of Birth.
Full: A dominant gene that is expressed as bold colors. Current groups: Black, Orange.
G2+: Cats with parents.
GHC: Gardenhome City, also called
the City. Cats from
Business Cards are from there. The inverse white group can only appear on cats from Gardenhome (except breeding of course).
Goldbino: Gold-eyed albino, from the inverse white spotting group. The rarest type of albino since inverse can only be obtained from
Business Cards or breeding.
Greenbino: Green-eyed albino, from the right white spotting group.
Hallobean: Cats born on halloween.
Hidden Albino: A cat that appears without any white spotting but can produce albino beans (the "albino" being hidden behind the "no white spotting" genes). NN10 is the relevant genetic code.
High-white: A cat with visible white spotting of intensity 7 and above (except 10, which is albino and its own thing.)
LH: Longhair.
Low Digits: Cat with 1 to 5 digits in their ID.
Mercats: An upcoming species of cats with fish-tails instead of back legs. They'll be obtainable with premium currency.
MFE: Migrated From Earth. Cats given by Nestor, and the starter squad.
Nestor Cat/Kitten: A cat, kitten or bean given by Nestor.
New White: White types added in
January 2023: the Left, Right, Piebald and Inverse white groups.
NF: No Family. These cats have an empty "family" box. They are what other sites often call G1s.
Null: A wind with snow fur. Also a gene, recessive. Null cats being unable to have biological kittens makes this wind the rarest of the four.
Nullbino: An albino Null cat.
Points: The patterns Color Point, Cloud Point, Lynx Point and Mink are collectively called this.
Purbino: Purple-eyed albino, from the piebald white spotting group.
Redbino: Red-eyed albino, from the classic white spotting group. The most common albino type currently.
SH: Shorthair.
Void: A solid black cat with no white spotting.
Watercolor: A coat pattern unique to Trade wind cats, when they have two identical color genes (currently OO or BB)
