For those submitting data:
I'm a bit behind due to being mostly on hiatus, but do not worry, I've seen your submissions and they'll be added! I'll be prioritizing Leaf Day while we're in-season and get caught up with the rest with a bit of lag time when I'm able. (10/08/2023 21:00 PCE)
If you want to know what daily scenario outcome does what, how it affects your cats' relationships, what items drop, or really anything else about a daily scenario, look no further

Below is a guide to what daily scenarios are and how they work!

What are daily scenarios?
Daily scenarios are social interactions that you can work through with your cats each day.
You can perform one scenario each day for every cat currently in your village that is aged Young Kitten or older (cats that can perform daily jobs). This number is rounded up.
Scenario options have one of four possible outcomes:
- Increase the relationship between two cats
- Decrease the relationship between two cats
- Give an item
- Nothing happens
That's the gist of it! If you want to get into more detail, you can read about some of the things that can affect scenarios below.
CAT PERSONALITY
Your cats' personalities and trait values affect how frequently your cat may appear in scenarios, how likely they are to make friends or rivals, and which specific scenarios they may be more likely to appear in. Family and friends also appear to be in scenarios with one another more frequently.
In addition, every scenario has a hidden Option C, which is revealed by a cat of specific personality being in the right slot.
Examples of these effects:
- High extroversion increases the likelihood that a cat will appear in social scenarios
- A Jovial cat has an increased chance of improving their relationships
(see full personality effect details here)
- A Protective personality cat in the first position of Scenario #1 reveals option C, which gives an item from Forest socials if chosen.
OUTCOME TYPES
The result of choosing any particular option in a given scenario can either (potentially) change a relationship status between two cats, grant you an item, or have nothing happen at all.
RELATIONSHIP CHANGES
Scenario options that affect relationships can either positively or negatively affect the relationship between two cats in the scenario. All cats start as Acquaintances with one another, but can either have their relationships positively affected to become Friends and then potentially either a Best Friend or Partner, or negatively affected to become Rivals.Options that can cause changes to relationship statuses are not guaranteed to cause any changes when the given option is chosen; instead, there is a medium-to-low chance that any change will occur, which is affected by personality (See Cat Personality section above).
Once an Acquaintance cat has become either a Friend or Rival with another, their relationship "polarity" is set, and cannot be changed through daily scenarios: Friends cannot have their relationship level decreased back to Acquaintance, and Rivals cannot improve their relationship back to Acquaintances. Special Letter items crafted by Scribes can reset these relationships (or set them to another relationship) if you need to change them. The only exception is for cats that have a familial relationship, as these cannot be changed.
Any option outcome that can positively affect a relationship can cause any type of "single-step" relationship change: Acquaintances can become Friends, Friends can become either Best Friends or Partners, and Partners that can have biological beans could ask to become parents. These relationships change incrementally, and cannot go from, say, Acquaintance to Best Friend without first having been Friends unless a Letter is used.
Relationship changes can only happen to the relationship between the first cat in the scenario and another cat in the scenario (aka, the relationship between, say, cat two and three will always remain unchanged from any outcome you choose).
ADDITIONALLY:
- Your cats will always ask you to approve any potential relationship changes, including the decision for Partners to have a litter of beans.
- You have the entire day (until rollover at 00:00 PCE time) to accept any potential relationship changes; if you do not wish to accept them, these outcomes can simply be ignored.
- A cat can only have a maximum of four Best Friends + Partners total at any one time, regardless of their Partner settings. Crafting Letters is necessarily to remove any of these relationships in order to allow for other Best Friend or Partnerships to develop.
- You can always skip all this and craft Letters (via Scribe) and Catmint Tea (via Apothecary) in order to change any relationship or cause two eligible Partners to have a litter of biological beans.
ITEM DROPS
Scenario options that grant items will give items from one of four "locations": Fields, Forest, Caves, and Village. Each of these locations has a different pool of items, and when presented with the choice between two location types, you can choose which you'd prefer. The different item drop pools can be looked up via the item database or the item search spreadsheet that I run.
A scenario outcome that gifts you an item will always give items in the future, unlike the random chance of relationship changes.
ADDITIONALLY:
- Item drop pools are affected by the season, so make sure to check for items that appear during the current season!
- Some items can appear in multiple different locations and at different rarities for each of those locations.
- As a whole, the chance of encountering an item of a given rarity is as follows, with every item of the same rarity dropping at the exact same rate. Currently, with 607 data points, these drop rates are estimated to be:
● Common : 40-42%
● Uncommon : 35-38%
● Rare : 15%
● Very Rare : 5-7%
- If you're stuck on which option to choose and the cats in your scenario all have max or min relationship statuses or are family, choosing an outcome that grants an item is the way to go!
"NOTHING" OUTCOMES
Some scenario options simply don't do anything! This is speaking mechanically, of course, because they offer neat insight into the lives of your cats and are helpful when writing their lore and picturing your village cats as a thriving community of individuals.Currently, any scenario option with just a single cat that does not give any item as an outcome will never do anything else and is just lore (and some multi-cat scenarios are like this, too!). But who knows, in the future it may be a means by which not-cats can discover their magical Aspect.
OPTION C
A secret option C will appear if a cat with a specific personality is in the right scenario slot. Each scenario has a different personality and cat slot that will trigger this, and it is not always the first cat in the scenario that causes it. Option C isn't always a better option to choose, however, so check the guide to see what may happen!
Option C is, understandably, uncommon to encounter. This means that the guide may not have much (or any) information on the cats that trigger them to appear or their outcomes.
If you happen across an option C and would like to contribute data for it, you can either post on this thread or send a private message of a screenshot of the scenario that shows both the outcome and cats involved and the ID numbers of the cats in question. Please only submit screenshots of your own cats or ones that you have been given permission to use.
