Mentoring is such an adorable concept! I love it already hug

The idea of much more diverse not-cat relationships is very exciting!
I hope you find a way to make it work in the future the way you plotted it out, but even if it's not quite as dynamic as what you described in the end, it would still be a fantastic addition to an already wonderful game sparkleparty

I am incredibly excited to know that more diverse relationships are being thought about!! My biggest dreams for the site definitely included found family as an option, and adoption… though I’m also glad you mentioned how tricky and complicated that is to add without wrecking our current not-cat relationships. It’s a really fun concept that I really do hope gets added, but I’m also more than happy to wait however long it takes. And if it can’t be added, then it can’t be added and honestly what you’ve done already is so awesome and so fun that I’d hardly be disappointed!! Thank you for all of your very hard work!!!

@teaunicorn I don't know. Right now relatedness/inbreeding checking happens when cats become partners and not when making beans so that would not be a simple change either. (This is the only reason why it requires partnership before you use the tea.)

The catmint tea was a late addition to the game that was not in the original plans (it was going to only be through scenario prompts originally) so the system is not really built with it in mind. The process of checking lineages is a Huge ordeal too so it would not be easy to move. If stuff gets moved around for some kind of surrogacy system then it's possible I'd be able to relocate it, which can open this up, but really who knows until I get into the weeds of it.

At least currently you can work around it by applying the love letters and then immediately removing the relationship moments later. laughing

but thank you, that makes a lot more sense! god knows how complicated code is. im very glad the tea was added if that's the case fwahaha
