Full title: Arborist/Arboretum - new job for the paper bark shortage!!
I love paper bark. I think it might be the most valuable, diverse resource in the game. There are so many vital uses for it. With the newest update is going to be even more valuable. And that doesn't even touch on all the decorative uses for paper bark.
I don't know if anyone else struggles with harvesting this valuable resource, but my not-cat certainly do (aka am i just constantly victimized by bad rng or is this actually a problem?). So i've been pondering what could improve this. The easiest option is to ask/beg Squid to up the drop rate chance or drop bundle size, but I assume that it's the way it is for a reason. Maybe it could be an occasional drop from adventuring?
But after today's update it occurred to me that a new job might be the perfect answer! An arborist would need an arboretum to grow plants (any good not-cat would know that deforestation is bad) so that we can ethically source the amounts of paper bark an active town needs for it's creative types to write books and make paintings on. They could either use seeds to do their job with or perhaps with plant mulch made from leaves or homework?
The arboretum could also unlock a crafting station to compost items, as well as craft any cool plant stuff that seemed fitting. It could be a good way to recycle high drop items that have few uses (looking at you, licorice) into mulch. This could be where leaves and homework could be converted to mulch too, potentially.
I think that about covers the premise. I have a bunch of other thoughts, but don't want to make this post too much longer. Thanks for reading, loved to hear everyone's thoughts.
Edit- i was thinking about what stats it would use. Strength and Dedication seem right but it could also use Perception and Dedication like the other 2 jobs working the earth wouldnt be out of place either.
