Upcoming Registration Window TOS Reminder

Since a registration window is coming up at the end of this week, here's your regularly scheduled TOS reminder:

First of all, you agree to only register one account per user, so if you're already here, appreciate your existing cats! Don't make a new account.

Second of all, funneling is not allowed. No account must exist to benefit another account. Getting a friend who has no interest in playing the game on their own to make an account just to send you the cats generated via the random squad is considered a violation of this rule and will result in both accounts being closed. While it is possible to trade cats on the random squad, make sure that you are negotiating fair trades/sales with newbies and that both accounts are playing independently and continue to play independently in the future.

It is unfair to users playing honestly to abuse the sign-up sequence or create alternate accounts to benefit your own.

All trade activity with new accounts is actively monitored during this period of time.

Terms of Service and Community Guidelines Updates

The Community Guidelines section on Spam has been updated to clarify a type of thread that is not allowed in the forums:

Expanded Boss Loot and Modified Drop Tables

Several types of adventuring drops have moved to being held front-end in the database instead of being coded directly into the site. This means that they will now show up when searching in the item database.

The first is the scar items. These are now tagged as "adventuring - global" as they are in the pool of items that can drop in any adventuring location.

The second is monster drops (collectables and monster decor/buildings). The tags on these specifically are purely for your own use (aka there's no function), which means I haven't gone in and tagged them yet, but I will do that later when I get the chance.

The third is the boss drops (aka the business cards).

You are now guaranteed one boss drop every time you defeat the boss of an area. In order to preserve the 1:8 odds of the business card, the Heart of the Woods has had new items added to the boss pool to expand it:

* The standard chests contains 150 notes and the enchanted one contains 150 notes and 1 essence fragment

Cat Recruitment Board Remodeling

The Cat Recruitment Board has been completely remodeled on the back-end. There may not be many changes front-end, aside from that most of the existing bugs are now fixed and the white markings search has been changed. It will also be much more easily scaled when new cat-related features come out.

All of the existing cat sales and receipts had to be migrated to their new database structure. The information on your trades and receipts should be correct, but if it's not, please let me know.

Village Manager Page and Table BBCode

For something really low-stakes to work on when trying to recover from the Incident last month, I made a little page in your village where you can view a table of your cats with various information types on it. You can see yours here. You can sort it by clicking on the headers.

Right now, it's active cats only, but it could be expanded on in the future. Spreadsheet makers everywhere will get a kick out of it I'm sure.

Since the table CSS now exists, I figured I might as well let you all use it in your profiles, bios, and forums. This is not yet included on the formatting bar because I... have to figure out where to even fit it in. Here's an example below:

*Bug Caveat: The header on forum tables still looks like you can click it to sort the columns, but this functionality wasn't added to the forums, so the header needs to be updated here.

New Catmojis

Made a few new catmojis as a treat last night :3



Other Changes

- The "It is monster's turn" screen has been removed in battles, except when the monster is the first to go at the start of the battle. This is the only reason it was there, so now it's gone the rest of the time.

- Cat harmony hearts show up at the bottom of the page for your reference when adventuring, in the same style as the monster's boxes.

- The "block user" page has been updated to clarify that preventing a user from buying sales/trades from you lives under the third checkbox specifically.

- Cat Recruitment Board sales receipts and Open Market sales receipts now clear from the database after a year of purchase.

- EDIT: Forgot I did this as well! You can now purchase 4 additional scenes in the Village Lodge (up to +16)

Bug Fixes

- Lodge descriptive text no longer says teachers use agility in the formula

- Teachers having trinkets no longer breaks the job change page

- Student modifier is no longer missing on cat profile pages

- Fixed issue where specialty jobs can't be changed due to a false "not enough spaces" error

- Students when growing to adult now appropriately list as unassigned on their profiles

- Count of special vs active cats was added to the bottom of the cats page

- Adolescent students no longer give a +10 EXP message when gathering even though there's no leveling for student

- Students when turning to adults now properly shows as unassigned on the gather resources page

- Mail carrier odd increases have been corrected at the post office

- Fixed temporary issue where students were unable to gather

- Nestor no longer gives out homework to prevent whiskers from trying to sell it

- Doctor HP boost in adventuring is no longer missing mayor's effect on pleasant cats

- Fixed issue where mayor and specialty position changes weren't available until one day later than they should be

- Cats are no longer being removed from scenes when they are sent traveling if you have an innkeeper

- Fixed issue where mail carriers were not giving the correct bonuses at post office

- Fixed issue where student bonuses were not being applied

- Cat board and open market filters by currency type are slightly wrangled

- Cat reorganization is being less strange

- Auto-sort no longer sorts both active and traveling cats

- The send to the city page no longer includes the old value (80-120) of the packaged gift, which is now 150

- When dressing cats, the playing pose no longer shows up 2px lower than it would live

- Fixed issue where, after the white marking update, scenario beans weren't going through

- The great rollback:
- - - Fixed issue where cat generation was creating duplicates.
- - - Fixed issues where, during restoration, some beans were sent traveling
- - - Fixed issues where, during restoration, some cats were not given bean cooldown
- - - Ongoing fix to issue where, during restoration, some cat relationships were duplicated

- The color is no longer just missing instead of saying "hidden" for cats on the CRB

- If details of a cat change, such as age or name, the information now updates in CRB

- CRB now pulls correct parameters when multiple are chosen

- Fixed issue where CRB was not including new white markings after the white markings update
- - Modified CRB to fix issue where none was being split into 5 different nones when trying to search due to the way it was combining white type and markings
- - CRB now allows to search by just white amount or just white type

- Market listings page format no longer broken when trying to view own listings

- Hitting enter key to start a search no longer publishes all the hidden items for admins (lol)

- New white markings and eyes now load properly in the cat sandbox

- Double shot is still broken, but it's broken more differently this time

- Adventuring no longer tries to steal items out of your safekeeping
