I think it'd be great if tortoiseshell and watercolor cats had something that varied what their patches looked like! As far as I know this isn't something dictated by genetics in real cats, and while that could definitely be the case for not-cats, I think it would be interesting if it were random to some extent. I've also heard that the size of the patches/how interspersed they are is (to some extent) correlated with how much white spotting is present, which could also be really interesting to incorporate.
I actually came to ask if something like this could've made! Because not only having variety on that would've really nice, making not-cats even more unique, but it could also help people who also like to have versions of their IRL cats. For example, my IRL tortie is nothing like the basic tortie style, instead she's this... actually hard to describe, let me draw it...
Her fur is something like that, which I can't get, and probably a lot of people get to this same problem
so that's why I think it could've a great thing, for both variety and the fun of having your IRL kitty made into this pretty alien cats' universe
