As of February 2nd, 2024, Fragment support has been added. Please consider adding any sales information involving fragments to the sheet!

Please only ever touch the dropdowns on the Calculator tab. I need to set the sheet to public editing in order for the Calculators to work. I tried to protect everything where I could but it's not foolproof due to how Sheets works.

If you do something by mistake please ping me so I can fix it.

The Averages tab gives you all of the average prices for each individual trait. This is a good tab to look at if you want a general idea of how much cats of one particular trait, such as a pattern or white group, are going for.

The Medians tab gives you all of the median prices for each individual trait. It can be a better way to show current values for certain traits.

On their own, this doesn't give you super specific information. It's pretty good if you want to know how much Albinos, Nulls, or Colorpoints are going for, or you really like numbers that are neatly presented. Most of the time, you're probably going to be wondering how much a specific combination of traits are valued, such as Black Minks or Tan Solids.

This is what the Calculator tab is for. Plug in a combination of traits using the dropdowns and it will give you the average, lowest, and highest price that combination has sold for in the past six months, including the total of number of sales for that particular combo.

Currently, there are two calculators: one for Color & Pattern and one for specific White Markings.

If you are interested in viewing specific submissions, the Raw tab is your friend. This is an important tab as you'll be able to view specific comments for submissions (such as any recessives the cat has, what their stat spread is, etc.) as well as the exact price each cat was sold for. This tab is where all of the form submissions go, so every single data point will be available here regardless of how old they are.

The sheet automatically filters out submissions that are over six months old to keep the data as accurate as possible.

This census wouldn't be complete without data, and that's where you come in! If you would like to contribute to the census, you can do so using the form link below. Please keep in mind some important guidelines when it comes to making submissions:

1. DO NOT SUBMIT DATA OLDER THAN SIX MONTHS. Cat pricing has evolved as time has gone on. A cat being sold for 3000 notes in 2022 doesn't mean it is still worth 3000 notes. The goal of this census is to be as current as possible with some wiggle-room, so please make sure your data is somewhat recent.
   
2. DO NOT INCLUDE BEAN/KITTEN RESERVES. Since these haven't traded hands yet.
   
3. SUBMISSIONS ARE FOR CURRENCY ONLY. Do not include cats that were traded for other cats, items, art, etc. You can submit data for trades if you and the other party are both in agreement of the value of what was traded. For example, if you traded a cat for 5000 notes and a longhair null that you and the other party both value as 5000 notes, submit the cat for having sold for 10000 notes.
   
4. DO NOT INCLUDE JOKE OR "OVERPAID" SALES. Sometimes you give your friend 6000 notes for a Classic Ginger tabby because they spawned with the name Jimbo. But if you know you're purposely over paying, please don't make submissions as to not skew the data.

The sheet automatically filters out duplicate submissions, so you don't need to worry about submitting the same cat multiple times.

I'll use this post for a changelog of the sheet as I make them. In a few months, I'd like to add a section for graphs so you can see how much cat value has varied over time!

• Medians were added! ...Like a few months ago. But they're there. The BST ranges refused to cooperate so they are excluded from medians right now. I may tackle this again in the future.
  
• Fragments support has been added! I anticipate that this area of the sheet will look barren for a while as results get submitted to the sheet.
  
• With the addition of Medians and Fragments, the sheet has gotten very bulky with tabs. I have decided to truncate the names to save space and also group tabs together based on category: Blue for Notes, Pink for Fragments, and Red for Data.
  
• I have remembered that I can hide columns on Sheets, so the ID column has now been hidden. Because of this, I am now accepting all purchases AND sales. I have also remembered cats can in fact be sold multiple times (wow) so no filtering of duplicates happen anymore,
  
• The sheet now actually excludes submissions older than 6 months. My old formula was not working apparently. This new one should be.

I think it might be nice to add some questions at the end (or maybe after the more relevant question) that aren't required to be answered, but provide extra info that would go in comments, but that can actually be quantified, ie. "shows no white" "4 digit ID" "special ID" "carries null" etc?

(and I suggest doing these as yes/no questions and not multiple choice checkboxes because of how google forms puts the data in the spreadsheet)

I think what would be helpful is a way to see the averages of a range of BSTs too! Like the averages of not-cats 100-110 and so on.

showing no white is actually an oversight I didn't notice until 90+ cats were submitted so :') oops. maybe one day I will add it in, but for now...it is not...........

As for the other questions, recessives, special IDs, etc. are all contained to the Comment box because I needed to balance the submission form in a way where it's informative/substantial but isn't a hassle to submit to. This is also why individual personality and physical stats aren't part of the submission process. Personally I also believe special IDs are better kept to their own sheet because they're very niche and have so many attributes about them (repeating digits, palindromes, certain lengths, chronological like cat 5678, etc.).

This might be me having a silly brain moment but could you explain that in a more detailed way?

Yeah, I totally get that, that's why I suggested just adding some yes/no questions at the end that aren't required to be answered. (You can add more questions after the form has been posted, just fyi)

I know I can add extra questions (I actually completely forgot a question for how much you paid for the cat until right as I was about to submit my first form, which is why it's all the way in column M) but every single submission before that wouldn't have the data inputted, so I'd want to go back and add all of the data to keep things super accurate.

It probably is better to add it sooner rather than later and just let the old submissions filter out as they get older, but it's also very late here and I don't trust myself to seamlessly add it. Maybe tomorrow
