The Village Lodge is a Late Game feature where you'll build a big fancy lodge-looking building. This will unlock:

1) The ability to purchase new scenes

2) The ability to assign special leadership jobs. Cats in leadership jobs will not count towards your village cap, so they're like free extra slots. To have any of the jobs, you'll need to designate one of your cats to be the mayor.

The idea behind leadership jobs is to allow villages to have more cats without contributing to exponential item generation increase (via having more and more cats to gather). They're meant to be small little boosts and special features.

Some of the other leadership jobs I've thought of:

Village Doctor - Increases HP of your entire village on an amount that scales with your Doctor's cleverness and a bonus for benevolence. Maybe a bonus for being the Gentle archetype.

Weathercat - Decreases negative effects from weather in amounts that scale with your Weathercat's cleverness.

Mail Carrier - Increases the max number of letters / chance of getting mail, scaling with Agility, Extroversion (potentially) and whether or not they are Adventurous personality archetype

Merchant - Decreases the cost of out of season items, scaling with Extroversion and Cleverness

Teacher - Unlocks "student" job for Kittens & Adolescents that can give them permanent (rare) stat boosts. Chance will scale with the teacher's Cleverness.

Village Greeter or Innkeeper - Scales with extroversion, very slight increase to odds of Nestor bringing a cat

Counselor(?) Event Coordinator (?) - Something that has small odds of influencing scenarios aka nudging them slightly more active vs passive, social vs solo, positive vs negative, dunno yet

(There's also a couple magic ones that won't be relevant until magic.)

All of these will be very small effects %age wise (like..... 1-4% in most cases). Cats with these jobs will not be able to gather. This is a way to give a small fun bonus and increase the # of cats you can have on hand while lessening the exponential item production of having more and more cats producing more and more items.


Anyway.... Got ideas for my jobs or bonuses???? Throw them at me!

Similar to the counselor idea, a village sheriff who would decrease the amount of crimes negative/rival forming scenarios popping up.

Ranger: creates a very small chance of certain out of season items to pop up during gathering.

Handycat: slightly decreases certain material costs (ie planks, clay, etc) from recipes.

A more "out there" concept, some kind of outlaw leader that unlocks a thief/bandit resource gathering job. be gay do crimes.

I love these ideas! I have one question, which would be would buying new scenes be new locations or new like slots?

I also like the idea of outlaw leader for the ultimate be gay do crime gang :)

@Elfydragon It would be new slots! So you could use it to have 7 or 8+ scenes.

You'll unlock new backgrounds through adventuring. (When you finish an adventuring location, you then get to use that location's backgrounds).

Scavenger: increased chance of obtaining more items from tier 1 jobs (miner, fisher, gatherer, etc).

Husbandcat (like husbandman, but cat): increased chance of obtaining more items from Flockherd job.

Knight: unlocks a job based around bonking outlaw cats. Item rewards could be armor apparel, stuff stolen seized from outlaws (on lesser quantities than with outlaw job), and some notes.

Painter: increased chance of obtaining items when performing Artist job. Unlocks the ability to paint buildings with dyes.

Party Cat: slightly increased chance of cats becoming partners during daily scenarios. Better gathering rolls during site events.

Enchanter: increases the chance of cats developing a magical aspect by a little bit. Can change a cat's magical aspect for a fee. Enchanter cat must have a magical aspect of their own. Will be irrelevant until magic, but I felt like suggesting it was worth a shot.

Event Planner - raises extroversion for scenarios/raises likelihood of ‘party/community’ type scenarios. Bonus if jovial, maybe for pleasant.

Fight Instructor - boosts effectiveness of offensive actions in adventuring, best if commanding or protective

Craft teacher - raises chances of getting collectibles from gathering, bonus for imaginative personalities and high dedication.

Courier (can be packaged with mail carrier) - raises chances of getting trinkets from letters
