It's simple, write lore for Bark for a chance of winning them

1. Must adhere to the community guidelines
   
2. Should center around Bark.
   
3. Can involve some of your cats or other OCs.
   
4. Short or long, up to you! (but pls, no novel )
   
5. They will come with a Fallen Grass Backpack as a freebie.
   
6. The winner can of course change the name, pronouns and bio of the cat, and use Letters of New Beginnings to yeet the relationships they already have, etc. The cat will be theirs to do as they wish with.
   
7. Don't be disheartened if you don't win, many more cats will come your way.
   
8. Be creative and have fun!

Bark's contest will take place between the 14th and 20th of May.

@Zav do we simply write our lore as a post on this thread? I LOVE creating lore for my cats, so I'm definitely planning to write some up for Précieux! I'm just not sure how to enter

Here's my submission for Bark! I wrote it in different pronouns but only realised after finishing, oops. Hope that's ok!

Bark loved his first home back on earth. It saddened him at first to enter the doorway, but something inside him told him that he had to. It wasn't his choice, it was just the way of things. Besides, all his not-cat friends were going, and he didn't want to be left behind.

He brought an old backpack, something that had stayed with him throughout his life on earth. It didn't have anything inside it. Well, not yet.

To delay his journey through, and to remember his old home as clearly as possible, he wandered through the city near the door, chasing butterflies and collecting sticks and cool rocks.
But only one thing made it into his backpack.

It was a leaf, yes, but there was something more to it. Brown, with speckled orange spots, it looked a bit like him.
And so he carefully tucked it away to bring it with him on his journey through this new place.

It meant that wherever he went, no matter how far, he always had a small piece of home.

@Bird I'll take submissions for Bark starting from the 14th if that's alright. I don't wanna bury myself in reading entries for two cats while in my exam week

Woops I had too much fun writing for bark, here's an entry for Précieux.

Précieux always loved the forests. Xyr ears and eyes were trained from years of chasing pigeons through grey skies and black paths. Xyr brown coat helped him to blend in, allowing xem to hide from most responsibilities in the treetops, gazing up at the stars.

Xe used to imagine xemself up there, among the clouds, dancing in the starlight. For so long after coming through the door, that was all xe did. Eventually, though, xe had to come down. Join a village. Become a more productive member of not-cat society.

It took a while, but Précieux finally settled down. Got a job. Became part of something. Xe loves xyr town and xyr new life; but every so often, xe can be seen staring at the sky, imagining xemself up among them, frolicking in their light.

This was so fun to do! I think I'm gonna go write all my cats lore now!!!


Précieux had always dreamed. Xe dreamed of catching mice, or finding a pretty butterfly  or gazing up at the stars and imagining shapes and symbols, but so did all cats right? But something had always been nibbling at the back of xyr mind, something different. Xe dreamed of the stars, and saw 4 spectral cats gazing down upon xem. Xe dreamt of lakes and forests, caves and mines, with pretty crystals in, and a large presence which xe could never see or here, but just felt comforting. Xe dreamed of having even keener sight, and being able to fly among the birds.
Xe always just dismissed these as fantasy, xyr imagination conjuring up fanciful tales, until xe met Nestor. Until xe met Nestor and discovered that all xyr dreams had been real. And of xyr future.

I'm entering for Précieux, but I'll change their name to Treasuregaze!

Treasuregaze loves pretty trinkets, sweet dreams, and long, drawn-out stories. Xe always wanted to be an adventuring cat, but xe is too good at getting in trouble and not good enough at getting out of trouble. Xe is a lover, not a fighter, after all.

Treasuregaze loves xyr geode crown, but xe wishes xe could find a different sparkly outfit, one with less rock stuck to it. If xe had more energy, maybe xe could go mining for xyr own... Treasuregaze is sure xe would do a much better job extracting the gem from the rock if xe wasn't so sleepy all the time!

Despite their similar personalities, Treasuregaze doesn't get along with Galewind at all. The problem is, Galewind just doesn't care about xyr interests. Much to xyr chagrin, however, they love to talk all about her own! Treasuregaze completely understands why Smoulderclaw wants to swat her all the time.

Are we able to submit a story for both Precieux and Bark in their respective weeks?
