Yo sorry if this is a frequently asked question! But I couldn't find anything similar whilst scrolling through the Help forum.
As the title says I would like to get back into PCE if possible, and figured Adventuring would be a nice place to start. The problem is, I'm not sure which cats I should take into battle, which strategies to use, etc. Maybe I should spend more time researching Adventuring but I'm still confused... Any Adventuring experts out here?

it really depends on you, there are a lot of different ways to adventure and you should choose whichever one you like best
for me, i like to start my squad out all as fighters so they could unlock bite when they reach level 2 bc it's much better than scratch, then i switch them to whatever class i want. on the same vein i make my cat theifs until they unlock the hide ability as it has better defense die than block.
as for cats: strength, agility and perception are the most important stats in adventuring imo so you should take cats who are high in those areas
i also recommend using speciality items to make your adventure squad friends/best friends with each other so they have harmony and are slightly better
im no expert in adventuring and i probably am not using the most efficient strats but this is how i tend to do it and it works fine for me

Oh my goodness you're a life saver!! Did a bit more reading on adventuring and everything's clicking into place!! Cleared the final boss about 5 times thus far. Tysm for giving me helpful advice! It cannot be underestimated enough.
