Open Marketplace
You can now visit the
Open Marketplace to buy and sell items. Listings will last 7 days before they expire, and a small 5% tax is deducted from all sales. The tax is rounded down, so it won't go into effect for items sold for less than 20 notes.
Recruit New Cats
You can also visit the
Cat Recruitment Board to buy and sell cats that are adolescents or older. You can't list cats that are:
- In an adventuring party.
- Wearing clothing.
- Holding a trinket.
- Raising a family.
Cats can be listed from traveling, or from your active village. If active cats are listed, they are not able to gather or participate in daily scenarios while there.
When a cat transfers to a new village, it must go directly to the active village (so you do need space). The cat will also have its occupation reset when this happens.
Important Note for Testing: The marketplace (and recruitment board) have gone through some iterations of "money and item eating." For the first few days, please test them out by writing down how much money and how many of each item you have on hand so that you can be sure everything is adding and subtracting properly. Since this is alpha, I will be returning any items and money that are "eaten" by the hungry markets. Let me know if something weird happens.
New Development Plan
The development plan has been completely remodeled. Please

What has changed?
Adventuring has been moved to become the core part of Beta.
Adventuring is a large task that will be in development with breaks for other features in between so that the site doesn’t go so long without any kind of update. Originally Adventuring was going to entirely sit within the Alpha phase, and significant progress is already made on the "beta" part of adventuring, but it is a very large task that needs to be broken up with other features in order for me to maintain my development momentum.
With the start of beta having been contingent upon adventuring being completed, I had been putting an excessive amount of pressure on myself to get it done as quickly as possible. Moving it to beta will allow me to move forward, get some more people joining, and then take my time with it as I continue on the development journey.
Magic and other special updates have been moved to post-Beta.
I've decided to push premium content and usermade decor and clothing ahead of many of the other features to make the transition from Beta to full release sooner. The reason for this is purely financial. Servers are very expensive, and the less time I foot the bill by myself the better. Anything that was fun and is a core part of my vision, but isn't necessary for the site to be playable, has been moved.
Beta is Coming Soon.
You heard it here first! Beta is expected to open in late February. More information on who will be allowed to join, when, and how, will be posted on
February 13th.
