i started playing a while ago but got kinda turned off by the fact you have to play to slowly unlock things, but i got back to it recently. i admit it's really confusing bc the game doesn't explain much and im stuck with one pet because i can't gather enough money to buy another one
this isn't me being overly negative bc it's fun but i wish it actually like explained things better... anyway my user is jelly #2856 ^^

this thread made me open the game for the first time in months and apparently my pet started dating while i was gone ?? is this what being a parent feels like LOL

anyway i'm violet #2907 i agree with @jellyjam that the game does feel Very slow, i started playing in august i believe and maybe this is bc i went ia for months but i still haven't unlocked a majority of the locations and also only have one pet due to struggling to gather moneys

Yeah, it’s very slow and admittedly that originally turned me off from it, too. Kinda glad I gave it another chance though, because I really do like it. Things definitely could be explained better as well.

I’ve honestly just been selling a lot of things. I just now have enough to buy a second pet, but I’m continuing to save until I see one in the shelter that I really like!

I enjoy the art style, very goofy and cute. I’m okay with the very slow progressing of the game since more fast paced games give me a head ache and don’t usually let me explore all the options.
The game not explaining anything was very odd to me? Shouldn’t you explain how to even start the game and how to make money at least? It’s pretty confusing but I think that comes with every game.

I'll admit I struggled a lot at first too but the wiki really does help! here's how I made a bit of money

kinball (easier, 4 pets) and then jousting (harder, 2 pets) are easier park events to win in, as you can rely on your pet's partner a bit.
money gets a lot easier after you unlock the market, as before then you really just have to hope your pet picks up a dollar or something.


try selling little strongboxes. getting a key has been hard for me. raising market price with string and pectin is easier.*

i'm new to popyseed because i only found out about it through the podcast ep w squid, but i'm really liking it! I can understand the lack of tutorial + very slow pace being difficult for some, but those traits might be my favorite things about it. I love how bewildered i am on the site, it feels like an interactive art piece. (bc it is tbf)

I've seen it around, but I finally picked it up because of this thread. The pets are really cute (bulbun <3) and I don't mind the lack of a tutorial! But I want to Cook Food and I have no food to cook yet
