I use a few steps when making lore for my cats (not in any particular order):
1. I try to connect them to something I’m already familiar with. This can be as simple as finding a song that reminds you of them and adding it to their bio
2. I use ingame scenarios as inspiration. For example, one of my kittens found a red carnation while gathering one day, so I gave them a red outfit to match
The personality, stats, and blurb Nestor gives you when gifting a cat can all help you determine what the cat does in your village
3. Once you have that down, you can ask yourself a few more questions about how they act and their routines. These can be simple, like “Do they prefer coffee or tea?” You can also go onto incorrect quote generators and find one that fits your cat for funsies
4. Think about how they interact with other not-cats. Daily scenarios are especially useful for this as they give you a wide array of examples that you can choose to write into a cat’s bio later.
So, to recap, here’s one of my starter cats, Rat:
“Rat” was the name given to them by the game, and they have a high agility, so I knew that they would be the sneaky, thieving type. However, they also have a gentle personality and several friends in the village, so I decided that they wouldn’t really be malicious and rather caring towards others. This is also the reason why I gave xem two little bird friends! Then, I went into the item database to find items that reminded me of xem, and added them to their bio.
And that’s pretty much it! Lore definitely isn’t something you have to focus on when you’re new, but once you’ve been playing for a while it’s super fun to really get into the personalities of each of your cats. Hope this helped
