i'm trying to start earning notes and probably ef on the marketplace- so if anyone has any advice i really need it!! i'm already selling catmint tea on the marketplace- but are there any other things i could do?
I recommend finding items you want to sell on the open marketplace and matching or going slightly below the lowest price of the same item. I’d also recommend keeping resources, but collectibles, decor, and clothing, are things I often sell because they aren’t necessary.
@allycat it's important to check similar listings of items before selling something so u can know how much to list it for, and if the price isn't accurate or there are no listings to base off of it doesn't help to ask for a price check in the help forums :)
also if you want to sell faster try being the lowest listing in the om, unless that's too low. i recommend also selling specific resources- usually selling lots of common things is easier than trying to sell one rare expensive thing, and certain resources are always in demand- things like catmint, ink, paint etc
edit: also like dandelion said quick selling duplicate collectibes and extra stuff u get from adventuring is a good way to make money, in general adventure can be really profitable so i recommend doing it

oooh, thank you so much, i'll definitely keep note of everything you said!! should i sell collectibles and extra stuff on the marketplace or should i quicksell them?
this isn't really marketplace related, but i get most of my notes from cat sales and adventuring!!
i list rare cats i breed on the crb, usually with a note about how haggling/offering is okay, because most of the deals i make don't end up being in pure notes or ef. most of my recent trades have been from people messaging me because they saw one of my listings on the crb! this playstyle doesn't super work for new players, though, because you really just need to fill up your village quick to maximize resource production.
as for adventuring - i make 200-400 notes every run from extra decor, clothing, and collectables, and the chance of a business card (worth around 5kn) adds to that! in addition, levelling up your cats for the denim backpacks they get when they reach a new highest level is really lucrative. you get notes and an essence fragment from each backpack, so that makes you some money too!
marketplace related:
i remember early on i sold clothing on the om, undercutting prices when i was willing to, but that's too tiring for me now (and i'm trying to hoard). i still sell more valuable resources on the om in groups of 10 (i find it maximizes selling them in bulk without dealing with too much tax). i tend to sell things like iron ore, thread, bricks, planks, iron bars, tree sap, and tea leaves. you could also sell resources like graphite, oil, black ink, and paint, as those are highly in demand. i sell for lowest om price or slightly below. this gets me a little boost in income that really add up !!
that's all my tips on how i money-make :D hope some of this was helpful!!

it's best to qs to get it over with faster, seen as the om price for them is the same it saves u time ^^

oh, and remember to factor in obtainability as well! the shifting seasons can cause massive price changes. understand which items are limited when to ensure you're getting the most out of them.
also, check the forums to see if anyone is looking for specific items so you can let them know if you have a listing.
pings + friendly dms + unsolicited offers etc are fine

Don't sell all your collectibles though, some things like Springshrews/Springsnails and Leafhogs can be thousands of notes since they're so rare and limited. Most adventuring things are safe to qs, like most of the resources (except son-of-nestor exclusives if you want those) but there are sometimes things like rare monster variants that sell for more. And I qs things to taste, only keeping a few forest hounds and vine snakes and quickselling most of the other ones (although I could be losing notes) because I don't really like or use them.
I don't want a Toxic Ember Wisp but I'm not going to QS that because it's the rare version!
