So today, I had four beans grow into adults. I'm a little confused about the results, and I have no idea if it's normal or a bug.

Let's go one breeding pair at a time. First is Shell and Lily:

That's Shell. This cat has a BST of 115.

That's Lily, BST of 115.

Enter the final BST of their kids. Anchor leveled up a few times at school and is 118 BST.

Anemone, who only leveled up once or twice at school, is... only 110 BST? That's lower than the parents!

The other result that I'm confused about is with Vivian and Lyra's kids. Vivian's BST is 121
, and Lyra's is 120
. Both of their offspring have a BST of 121, which makes sense on the surface until you consider that Kelp
leveled up at school at LEAST five times, possibly 8 to 10. I wish I had recorded the exact dates and times involved, but it's just really weird to me that this cat seemed to be doing exceptionally well at school and then ended up having the same exact BST as their parents. Is this normal/expected, and if so, how?

@Mercrow parents play a veeeery small roll in stats, they're not strongly inherently so it's possible for offspring to have a bst that's totally off from the parents

@jellyjam But my understanding after reading the Growth Guide was that parents play a pretty important role? Like, stats are linked to a not-cat's final weight, and that weight is inherited from the parents. Does that just result in a range of potential final stats then, rather than a fixed "your cat will be at LEAST xyz stat total" number?

@Mercrow parents stats have a very limited effect on the stats of the offspring. the weight thing mostly determines the growth gene. you COULD predict a cat's bst with the parents weights, bc it falls between either one of their parents', but you will need to have noted the stats of at least 2 life stages, and you will get a specific range of what their bst could be and it wouldn't necessarily be the same as the parents unlike weight
