When you make fancats, do you try to find cats who's personalities and stats match the character as well as looking the same? I don't because it makes it really hard to find cats and I need my babies in kitty form RIGHT NOW

As someone who is working on creating cats for all their ocs, I tried to get close as I can for the main ones, but let it slide for less important characters.

I prefer it, but most of the patterns are pretty rare/expensive so I'll take what I can get! and anyway I can pretend that being in cat form alters things so it's no big deal

i don't usually care about family/personality/stats when it comes to fancats because i just ignore the in-game info and make stuff up. i do prefer getting cats that match but if they don't idc

i don't care about family, i think it makes it funnier when my fancat is related to a bunch of other kitties for personalities, i do find it important, but i usually have a few options that i would be okay with, so it's not too difficult. for stats - i don't really care at all.

I'm picky about personalities sometimes, though if it's like Jovial vs Gentle or something that's not too important. Stats I don't mind, since I'm not intending to adventure with them or really do anything besides admire them and make them live a little kitty life.

in my canon all of my fancats are actually just cosplayers, except for yabusame, theyre just the actual character in cat form, which actually kinda makes sense because in lore they're the same person across all the dimensions, i wont get into that, so like this would actually be canon for the game they came from (len'en project), which is wild to think about but i guess it's true

i prioritize appearance over anything else. if i don't already have a not-cat that looks like what i'm wanting then i'll try to buy one with a fitting personality! stats don't matter to me, it's just nice if they happen to fit at all.

Not stats, but personalities. But I try to be flexible and not get too hung up on getting one specific personality, so I usually have a handful that I'll deem acceptable. Also, regarding needing them right now, what I've done before is gotten a cat who isn't perfect purely to be able to have someone to represent them in the interim, while still hunting for a cat who fits more perfectly on the side. This helps me be able to start on things like making their outfit and profile without having to endlessly hold onto the idea if the cat is troublesome to get.

i just go for appearance and everything else is an added bonus. sometimes it makes it more entertaining, such as my reigen arataka cat being a pleasant personality with higher base luck (aka magic aka psychic powers) than mob, or my yuji itadori cat having base 6 agility. the only thing i try to avoid is a cat that has children, something about it makes me feel bad

of course even then i tend to be pretty loose in accepted appearances reigen should be orange but is instead apricot, shou and shoko are trade winds instead of having a standard coat, but to me it just makes it more personal. these aren't just little guys i turned into cats. they are little guys turned into MY cats.
