As a quick reminder of what Ascension does, here's some text copypasted from the Life Stages article:
Life Stages
Ascended cats get a 1d6 boost to each of their stats, but as a trade-off, ascending is making a commitment. Ascended cats are no longer able to perform their day jobs [...]. Ascended cats are also no longer able to have biological families of beans (though they can still adopt). The best use of an ascended cat is in adventuring. [...]When cats ascend, their appearances change as well. When you ascend a cat, you will get to choose a number of new features to add to your cat, depending on which Guardian they make a pact with.
Features of Cats Ascended to Nestor:
- Choose from a variety of antlers in various sizes and colors
- Choose to optionally add additional eyes to your not-cat
- Choose a halo of gold or silver
- Choose to optionally add one of two styles of wings in a variety of colors
Personally I'm a tad bit hesitant on Ascending cats at the moment. I don't mind losing turns of Gathering or bio beans but I'm also not a huge fan of halos in general and the mandatory halos are throwing me off a little bit. Wings though...
If I end up deciding to ascend a cat, it will most likely be either Lyle or Edward - neither has good stats, I'm not interested in Edward having beans, and Lyle cannot have biological beans anyways so I wouldn't be loosing a lot if he ends up ascending.
