So this was inspired by some of the discussion here
I didn’t want to try making it in the same thread because it’s… different to what was suggested there.
A point people often make when talking about Nestor cats, is feeling like they can’t not accept the cats. They feel like by saying no to a cat, especially to kittens and beans, they’re abandoning those cats to the wilds. Which, when you’re thinking of beans is a very hard thing to imagine.
My suggestion is to add something to Nestor’s text that says or implies that he will find another home for a cat, should the person being offered them not desire a cat at that point in time. Even if that cat does not get generated for another person I think just the lore aspect of it will alleviate a lot of the… idk if stress is the right word, but it’s kind of like, the stress of feeling as though a cat you reject is just completely abandoned.
This would be an entirely lore based fix, because I know it’s been said that cats offered by Nestor aren’t actually generated until you accept, so it’s not really possible for a rejected cat to be re-generated for another user.
Tl;dr - Have Nestor say/imply that if you don’t accept a cat then that cat will find a loving home in another village, or even the city (and not just be abandoned).
