@Willow - Hi! I'm glad you like my art! I'm really proud of the piece you mentioned - it's someone's D&D character, and I really loved how the outfit came out sparklepartypurpleheart

I've never really been asked something like that, but I did come up with some stuff that's helped me out!
  • Draw lots of different things! I really like drawing whatever's around as a kind of warm up muscle

  • With digital art, it is absolutely lifesaving to flip the canvas AND put it into grayscale - helps out a ton with proportions and values

  • Pretty much everything you see in this thread is something I drew for someone else. You should absolutely draw for yourself, but it can be great practice to try working with existing characters (plus it motivates me a TON). Everyone loves receiving art!

  • I guess more specifically, I really love the vibe of traditionally drawn comics. Comic art is almost never 100% polished, and I like drawing little comics here and there to help me work on composition, style, and scenery!
I've been drawing for years, so it was nice to go back and think about it for a bit. PCE definitely has helped me get back into drawing. As a treat to anyone who really cares to read my rambling about art, I present to you one of my first ever digital art pieces (from 2012, using MS Paint)

Oooh, thank you so much! Those are all good ideas- I’ll have to ask some of my friends for characters to draw and figure out to flip a canvas xD
Also yeah! I wondered if that character was from a D&D world. The clothes are very realistic, amazing job!
And last thing- That early MS Paint piece is still impressive, I mostly do sketches and can never get all the paws the way I want them
