@Dandelion
I'm not sure about anyone else, but this is an analogy that always worked really well for me:
Imagine your gender as a sweater that your parents/society gave you: some people(usually cis peeps) like this sweater and keep it their entire lives. Some cis folks might change their sweater a little(those that challenge man and woman stereotypes).
Some people don't like the sweater they've been given - they might swap it out for a new one(trans folks), wear different sweaters at different times(genderfluid folks), or they might not wear a sweater, instead opting for a shirt(non-binary folks). Some might not even wear a top at all(agender folks, though this unfortunately implies that you'll only find them in warm climates).
For many of the folks that don't like their given sweater, being reminded that they're wearing it makes them suddenly very aware if how itchy it is or they're aware that this sweater is incredibly uncomfortable every second of every day(this is called gender dysphoria and it sucks horribly).
Obviously this isn't a perfect analogy(though I've yet to see a perfect one that holds up to scrutiny), but I hope this helps!! If the gender dysphoria part doesn't make a ton of sense, try looking into it!! I'm mainly only able to draw on my own experience, but I've also heard it being likened to suffocating pressure, the feeling of not showering for many many days, like their skin is too-tight over their body, and a few others that I've also heard being/that sound very similar to those used by people uncomfortable with their weight.
Oh, I almost forgot: hi!! I'm non-binary masc! I recently had to give away a too-small binder and can't currently get a new one(enviroment), but for others who need binders/fem shapewear and doesn't have the money,
PoP offers them for free in over 90 countries! (Shapewear is a binder for transfems!)
PoP is a non-profit organization that also helps with HRT(12 months of free care!!!) and gender-affirming care(surgeries and permanent hair removal). Tbh if I had the money I'd buy a banner so that more people could access it/donate, but . . . . I don't :')
