Castle Rock
In this part of Brightstone, tucked so deep into the woods, it seems as if the sky is perpetually overcast. Even as the trees break to allow you an unobstructed view of the sky, something else is already there to loom in its place. Castle Rock has been there since before Brightstone was founded, and it will likely loom there for millenium after its gone. And if you watch long enough, in the windows you can see a glimmer of white moving out of view, as if an apparition has come to loom over you too. . .
Castle Rock is the home of Brightstone's nobility. While the village has a mayor, they are primarily an advocate for the rest of Brightstone's residents. The nobles of Castle Rock have the final say in new laws the village suggests, and are the designated cats that outsiders from other villages meet.
With the village's folklore around albinism leading to higher rates of magical aptitude in that cat's descendants, the cats of Brightstone recruited one minor lady from Cattington, and sent letters out to every regal family they could until they found a suitable match. Despite this, the first ladies of Castle Rock seem to have little interest in ruling the way nobles do. Hildale prefers to spend her time in the village's hunting parties, always seeking a stronger monster to defeat in combat. Her wife Eloquence is her complete opposite, throwing herself into the work of the Echoing library and compiling information on Not-Earth as a whole.
In the Autumn of Year 9, the pair's first litter finally came of age. As Tempo was set to be betrothed to a family in Vernora, the family adopted the D'Brightstone surname as well.
