fontaine has always had an affinity for water, even back on earth. arriving on not-earth, she'd heard of the "frog chorus wetlands" to the northeast and decided to head there, thinking surely whatever a "wetland" was would be great! but she soon learned that was not the case. she'd never anticipated the muddy water, the bugs, the frogs' croaking and screaming at night. she always acts like she's miserable here, but after trekking all this way she couldn't just head back to gardenhome, right?
after staying here a while, she realized it wasn't too bad. the small bugs would land on her nose, she gained a new appreciation for the frogs' beautiful songs. the murky water seemed to clear up around her while swimming, letting her see further, even if there wasn't much to see beyond lilypad roots and lakeweed. this is her home now, even if she still doesn't act like it.
and sometimes, she can feel something, swimming alongside her.

Something about them seems... sad. They seem rather shy. You get the feeling this not-cat is quite brave.
