Evren stares up at a dark sky, feeling the tickle of a gentle breeze against his fur. As a kitten, he always had a feeling there was something missing; something he didn’t yet understand about the world. He grew up not knowing that something was waiting for him. When the portal to Not-Earth appeared before him, he didn’t hesitate to charge through. It was as if he had been suffocating his entire life, and a mysterious force just offered him his first real breath of air. The memory of that night makes his heart beat stronger. He remembers taking in his surroundings, and how every nerve in his body screamed at him to LOOK UP! And he did. He had seen the moons, the stars, the galaxies, and he realized it was the universe itself that was waiting for him to come home. This is where he was meant to be. Evren watches the morning sun begin to rise from the horizon, and he tells his astral ancestors he’ll see them again that night.
