Everyone knows cats borne in Nestor's Wood are strange -- those that spend their time adventuring stranger still. Caladium and Inkcap come from their travels covered in twigs and grime, but deeper still they are touched by the magic of those woods. Caladium hears the heartbeat of meadows, leaping into motion before mice have the chance to startle. Inkcap in turn knows the deep earth by heart, knowing north by heart even in the darkest part of the forest. Their kin shake their heads at their antics, but know not to try to brush off the mushrooms in their fur, not the flowers that spring in their footsteps. Someday, legends will tell of two adventurers more forest than cat, but for now they come back every evening just a little bit stranger watching something no-one else can see.
