Just so you know, Anise is an artist. They may not officially be an "artist" right now, according to the clan, but, if they stopped making him do these meaningless chores, they'd be able to spend his time gathering inspiration. They'd never admit it aloud, of course (only strongly imply it), but they're actually of a bit of a higher caliber than all these cats who only spend their time on "practical," "useful" matters.

Right now they're working on a project about flowers. Their artistic process consists of wandering about in fields while wearing a flower crown, looking at flowers, thinking about flowers, and complaining when other cats want to make the flowers into herbal concoctions. Ugh, practicality. Anise always says they want to leave and find somewhere where their talent can be better nurtured, but they never follow through.

(They'd be more disliked in the town if the other cats didn't have to acknowledge that they do have a really good eye for design. They also know a lot of groundbreaking artistic techniques: apparently before they got to Forswaelan, they actually studied under a skilled multimedia artist and dedicated themselves to the craft.)
