i decided i wanted to change all of my cat's names, but i don't think i realized how difficult it would be to come up with a theme to fit 45+ cats .......... i've changed them all 3 times before immediately deciding i didn't like that theme, and now they're all named 1-47 bc i gave up for now LOL i might do song names, foods, or nature related names, or maybe a mix of all 3? but for now they will simply have number names

ive also had this problem .. i think for now i'm doing like. groupings of themes for certain kitties ..! multiple themes seems like a good approach when u have lots of ideas ..

you can do it more easily if you include other languages.

some theme ideas: mythology, pleasant scents, plants, hues, favorite dinners, songs, feelings, words starting with p or q to indicate level of evil

numbers as a naming theme is kind of camp...

I usually just searched beautiful names and/or words and combine all of them to match with my cat's theme though searching it and combining it is gonna take some time, I'm still like... 7/45+ done, there's also cats that I feel like I wanted to keep their name so bad, and also fancats, like Alpha and Lee.

I only change names of cats that I really like and for some I would just leave them be because I doesn’t have a lot of emotions with them :3

I currently theme around each litter of kittens, like how my latest born are Mongoose and Cobra, destined to be enemies for life!

I actually don't often change my cat name.
I got a bean from Nestor. The bean is Ginger but it's name is Cyan. Found it funny so I kept it.

Getting themed names can be tough, although I really only do it for batches of kittens born in my village or specific litters.

It's probably easier if you're looser with the naming rules, like if you're doing plants you might pick between common names for specific species, scientific name, genus names, names in other languages and even the anatomy of the plant.

But really just go with whatever makes you happiest. If it doesn't spark joy it doesn't take much to change.
