if you don't have enough materials for a cat to work their job, what do you all do?

a) buy the materials
b) skip their job for the day
c) change their job, make them work, change it back
d) something else

i normally do B, since my notes would go to waste if i purchase all the materials i need. i only purchase them if it's a student, since i want to give them every opportunity to increase their stats! but tell me your methods because why not

B, because I'm usually too lazy to change their job for a day.

i don't really run out of materials often but when i do i purchase them, unless they aren't stocked at whiskers' and the om price for them is way higher than it should be in which case i change their job to something that doesn't require resources for the day

I usually do C (change their job, make them work, change it back) but then I forget to change it back so over time my jobs become unbalanced.

i usually do c, but i almost never run out of materials for my cats to use. i’m always rotating who’s working what job and who’s in my village so that i make the most out of the season, how many students i have, and the materials i have on hand

I have only had this happen to me once with an early winter when I had no seeds. I ended up buying seeds I needed from someone. I had to get those Gardener rolls!

I usually do C. If I'm really low on materials like seeds for example, I'll let them do the gathering job for a few days
