I've been thinking about this for a while, but I do wonder where in Nestor's Woods, or beyond, do people headcanon their villages to be?

The idea is to take a screenshot/download the newest map in the thread, add your own dot onto the map and post it here! The only rule is to keep your dot to a reasonable, small enough size. I've already marked Sprucefort with the red dot, but you can pick any colour you want.

Feel free to mention any tidbits of lore!

my village is at the top of a mountain/cliff, and the world map says the rolling hills are the foothills for a larger mountain series so id imagine my village would be around that northwest area of nestor's woods ^^

I put Calico Creek over by Frog Chorus Wetlands, since I imagine my village to be in a more wetland-like area

Asmodeus came from Hell, so they wouldn't want something too deary. So they put their village in a sunny spot at the end of a river, for all their future youngins' to play in.

oh wow lol! sprucefort and houseplant are just straight up neighbors


just that little green dot right there on the border... Houseplant is in a very prolific wild area in the thicker parts of Nestor's Wood where there's just... so much plant life everywhere lol. inescapable! they've probably discovered a few new species in there.
there's also an underground system of tunnels and caves right underneath the heart of the village that almost nobody knows about! so that's. fun. if you like beasts?

the yellowish-orange dot is Solden. it’s located on a route between the sunflower prairie and Gardenhome, so it gets a lot of visitors

Petalfall is the purple dot south-east of Crescent Lake. The area nearby is very flat, with patches of woodland and flower fields. It's easiest to travel to the ocean (or the Impact) by boat, being close to the river. Not-cats sometimes gaze over the lake and wonder about Bramblebark Island...

Despite being close to Gardenhome, the village doesn't get many visitors. Maybe they're put off by the abundance of monsters?

norlund is the bright blue dot - due north of @jellyjam 's village - almost right on top of the border with the cloudnap mountains and sunset pines. i headcanon it to be a region of semi-mountainous forest, with one particular localized area that gets way colder than is normal. the researchers of norlund currently theorize that this happens because of a unique geologic coincidence, or possibly the influence of stray magic... or both. regardless, it is so cold year-round as to be almost inhospitable. perhaps it might have been marked off with warning signs and left alone, were it not for norlund's founders, who love the cold despite the challenges that it brings. norlund has now become a haven for not-cats who like to enjoy a year-round, unending winter!

i might end up changing norlund's corresponding map location if (when?) we get access to areas outside nestor's wood, but for now i'm quite happy with it, and it plays well with the canon that all villages are currently located within the wood

I envision Glowshroom right somewhere in the moon where there's a lot of moisture to keep mycelium growing! Moistness is important, and there's loads of water everywhere. I almost imagine it kind of marsh-y, and it'll look a lil better in terms of village theme when I can make more custom clothing/items for my Scenery that involve the glowshrooms. >v<

I've always imagined my village roughly around here. At a sort of border between the thick tall forrest that you would see at the heart of the woods, and the small more open areas in the rest of Nestors woods.
