I would like a way to remove family relationships between cats, seeing as coming up in the development plan there's going to be a way to add them but not remove them. We can remove friendship relations, so why not family relations?

I imagine it working like this:

I apply family removal item to Cat A. Cat A no longer has any family in their list, but if you go to any cats that Cat A was family with before, Cat A still appears in their list (Applies one way only). Alternatively it can apply both ways, but then that starts to affect other peoples cats and I don't think that good.

I can see problems with trying to use this item on cats with beans, so perhaps it can only be applied to cats that don't have any beans/expecting beans?

Edit: I don't think this poses a problem for determining if a cat is a Nestor cat or not, since the origin tags are different for Nestor cats, Business card cats, and if a cat was born to your village. However, to prevent confusion, a marker that an the item has been used or changing the above to a hiding option instead of a removal would also work as well.

I feel like this could easily be used to trick people into thinking they're looking at a nestor cat. So no support as is.

Instead maybe just hide them under a button that lists the selected family members as being hidden, and you could see them again by clicking on it.

no support, bc it can get complicated. if Cat A is related to Cat B but B isn't related to A then how would relationships work? are they able to become rivals, (best) friends, or partners? and having a cat listed as related in one cat's profile but not the other way round is confusing. also sinornis did raise a good point about it being used to trick ppl into thinking a cat is g1 nf, i don't know how affective adding a label would be seen as other speciality items dont have them. removing friendships is very different than removing family bc it doesn't make things as complicated

No support for any type of removal. Besides PCE being a village simulator, the family needs to be on there for breeding purposes: if someone buys two cats that had this item used on them with the intention of making them partners to have beans, would it work? Would it fail? How could there be any indication these two couldn't be bred together in order to prevent this scenario?

No support for all the reasons above and not wanting to see certain family members can easily be solved by turning extended family into a drop-down menu, not just fully removing family relations altogether.
