I just checked all my cats. I don't remember any starter squads of mine generating with it/its pronouns, not my current squad, none of my nestor cats, and not even any of my beans.
I checked my friends' cats too - no it/its cats. I think this is a possible glitch like with the NN0 white and Mink Glitch.

@quill now that we are about at 6 people with 0 it/its cats, it definitely sounds like we're dealing with another glitch like those. The Three Musketeers, one may say.

I have 6 she/her cats, and no it/its cats at all.
I don't change the sets, as it gives a good challenge to potential lore building.
The reason for the it/its-shortage could be because it's quite a new pronoun set compared to the others? And through that, cats that are new aren't coded to potentially have it.

behold,,, my only naturally generated it/its pronouns cat! its name is echo and i love it very much. tho i will admit i really Dont see a lot of it/its cats around? i assumed i was either just Not Seeing them or maybe that ppl were changing them? anyways. could be a bug with nestor/migrated cats perhaps? as mine is born in nestors wood (has bio parents)
i think i have cats with every other pronoun set, tho! if anyone wants to look thru my cats and confirm (for statistic reasons) youre welcome to do so, i think ive only really changed a couple of my cats pronouns. rein, baton, and maybe oatmeal as well, come to mind. maybe pictal?
edit: oh and another thing- it/its pronouns were added at the same time as he/they, she/they, they/he, and they/she. theyre all listed in this announcement thread here

For some reason the game really likes giving me ae/aer, they/them (also they/she..) not-cats but outside of my custom cat (which is based on my irl dog) i havent had a single he/him, it/its she/her not-cat yet... 
i dont generally change names or pronouns either - i definitely have an imbalance between my cats who use she/her and my cats who use he/him LOL
