The reported bug is unrelated to the text issue
As for the apostrophe issue, that was reported in the Typos Megathread, but I don't believe there's a thread already for two enemies acting on the same screen, so I'll leave this up.
This is the same issue as the general text stuff. When you click too fast, the display text / actions code can't keep up. It's not actually "happening" at the same time, it looks something like this.
Normally:
> Next turn prompt sent to server
> Server processes the turn and sends it back to the browser
> The browser begins to display to the user what happened.
If you go really fast:
> Next turn prompt sent to server
> Server processes the turn and sends it back to the browser
> The browser begins to display...
> Next turn prompt sent to the server
> Server processes the turn and sends it back to the browser
> ...The browser is still going through the process of displaying the first turn. It begins working on displaying the second turn. Now it's doing both at once (in the same place), leading to the Garbled Text.
I've done some things to stop this, like disabling form fields after they're clicked once, and have a few ideas for some additional ways to stop it. The server operating at around 200-300% capacity the last few days has probably exacerbated the issue because it's likely going slower which gives increased holes for people to accidentally double submit.
