Please keep all of your suggestions for new daily interactions and post office spam or friend letters to this thread, thank you!
About this Thread
You can submit either general ideas, prompts, or concepts to this thread, or you can submit fully formed written texts.
Fully-written suggestions that are implemented will be credited to the user who wrote them and said user will be given a prize basket and $10 in premium currency as a token of thanks.
The thread will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the next review taking place on the below date:
June 1, 2024
On that date, I'll look through and pick my favorites of what is posted here (There is no cap aside from what I have the time to type out. Scenarios are time-consuming to implement.) Users who were chosen will be sent a PM asking for final permission to use the scenario and, if applicable, any edits that I've suggested or made. You'll also be asked to pick a specific color basket you'd like:
Notes from the November-December 2023 Review
Super late, but I've now completed my November review of this thread. 20 scenarios and 20 letters were chosen for implementation into the game. All users with selected entries were contacted this morning! If your scenario/letter wasn't chosen in this round, that doesn't mean it can't be chosen in a future round! There were some excellent scenarios that were skipped over either:
a) because there was not space in the round or
b) because some of the option 3 personality types were way more popular to write for than others. I try to keep the personalities balanced in scenarios so cats have a somewhat equal chance of getting the third prompt.
These scenarios may be revisited in June!
How to Suggest a Post-Office Letter
You can either suggest a generic idea, or submit an entirely written letter. Letters must be extremely short in order to fit nicely on the page. Letters can be classified in two categories: spam messages (advertisements, scams, etc.) and letters from traveling cats.
How to Suggest an Daily Scenario/Interaction
You can either suggest a generic idea for a suggestion, or you can submit an entirely written suggestion.
Interactions contain the following portions, using the form below:
Interaction Creation Form
Interaction Title: Brief Name, Must be unique (May be changed if not unique)
Seasons Available: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and/or Winter
Positive or Negative Interaction: This indicates whether the interaction is favored by more benevolent not-cats or less benevolent not-cats.
"Negative" interactions should NOT be malicious, but instead a little reckless, rebellious, or teasing/playful. Appropriate negative interactions include play wrestling, gossip, throwing snowballs at other cats, booping each other on the head as a cat is want to do, or writing edgy poetry. Negative interactions may include responses that can make cats dislike each other slightly, but must have at least one standard response that is neutral or doesn't cause dislike.
"Positive" interactions should be on the wholesome, pleasant, or completely harmless and responsible side. Appropriate positive interactions include making flower crowns, just chilling together, rolling in the grass, working on a craft, going for a walk, and giving another not-cat a gift. Positive interactions must not include any potential for cats to dislike each other, except on rare occasion.
Solo or Social Interaction: This indicates whether the interaction is favored by introverted or extroverted not-cats.
"Social" interactions must include multiple cats interacting with each other.
"Solo" interactions do not have to be completely alone, but when another not-cat is involved, it should be in a way that it was not the intent of the original activity. For example, "[2] sees [1] sitting alone and goes to quietly sit by them to see what they are doing."
Active or Passive Interaction: This indicates whether the interaction is favored by high or low energy cats.
"Active" interactions must be somewhat physically requiring, for example climbing, running around, going out and about.
"Passive" interactions are those that can be done quietly while sitting or standing mostly still, for example talking, sitting, reading, or doing crafts.
# of Cats Involved: Between 1 and 4 cats. Cat #1 is ALWAYS the "host" of the situation. That is, the cat that is labeled #1 is the cat whose personality influences the style of interaction (positive social passive, etc.)
Intro Flavor: Introduction to the interaction, replacing each cat with a number in brackets for example:
"[1] spots a really interesting item in [2]'s box of belongings..."
"[1], [2], & [3] are having a snowball fight!"
Try to keep it less than a paragraph. There is a pronoun/special conjugation coding system which you may see in the examples here, but you do not have to use that. Write your statements using they/them pronouns for each cat, preferably tagging which cat is being referred to (e.g. [they/1] [them/2]), but otherwise this will be handled on my end when implementing the interaction.
Player Choices: Each introduction has three potential responses. The first two any cat can use. All three choices have a catmoji to correspond with them and add flavor. The last one is exclusive to when a participant cat has a specific personality archetype, for example:
First Choice: "[1] grabs the tree branch above [2] and [3] and shakes it."
Second Choice: "[1] tunnels into the snow to surprise attack."
Third Choice: If [1] is Adventurous: [1] challenges the group to continue the fight up in the trees.
Results of Choices: The resulting flavor of each of the above responses.
First Result: "[1] shakes all the snow off the tree branch and [2] and [3] are now buried entirely in snow. The two crawl out of the snow pile looking very cold, and slightly defeated."
Second Result: "[1] tunnels through the snow and jumps out behind [2] and [3], booping them on the back of the head!"
Third Result: "[1], [2], and [3] all climb up into the trees and throw snowballs at each other until someone falls. [2] falls first, and finds something interesting on the ground where [they/2] landed!"
Rewards of Choices: Each choice can have one of the following results:
- None
- Relationship + (Like! Chance of increasing relationship level)
- Relationship - (Dislike! Chance of becoming rivals)
- Acquire Item (will choose from either Village/Art Type, Field/Flower Type, Forest Type, or Cave/River Type)
First Reward: Relationship -
Second Reward: None
Third Reward: Forest Type Item
