When I first tried signing up, I tried 3 different spellings of Annabel Lee and it rejected all of them. Eventually I had to pick a different name. But it let me put Annabel Lee as the name of a cat. Why is that?

im not too familiar with the username rules but could it be the space between "annabel" and "lee" it had an issue with?

just a guess as i havent seen anyone with spaces in their name though
