This is the reason why my friend who joined during the same registration period as me accidentally declined my friend request the first time, lol.



I almost declined a gift just now, the 'decline' button is the closer option and stands out more, it's basically asking to be clicked. And not only that, the 'accept' button has no colorful outline, unlike the two buttons in the next example. 'Decline' is the default option clearly.

When it comes to writing forum posts, the yellow button that sticks out among the grey-blue color scheme is the 'submit' button, and the 'cancel' button has no box or outline at all.



My suggestion would be to swap the positions of the 'accept/decline' buttons on gift and friend request pages, and make the 'accept' button the yellow one.
Possible cons: muscle memory for veteran players who have gotten used to this weird inconsistently might screw them over for a short time period.

Hard support for this. Every time I get a gift or trade I nearly decline it because the button pops out so much more.

Compromise:
Don’t swap the button placements, just make the Accept button the highlighted yellow button

Another compromise would be to make it red, which is more closely associated with declining or canceling things. Alternatively, giving accept a check mark symbol and decline an x symbol will help immensely.

Having them consistent across the site would be nice - the positive button always a particular color, same with the negative. It's a bit awkward to have them change around

Hard support! I always worry I'm going to accidentally decline a gift because that button stands out so much more. Just changing which button is highlighted would do wonders for that anxiety.

support! on light mode, while the "decline" button is actually red, it still stands out way more, and i need to concentrate when i go to gifts and private trades to actually read the text on buttons. maybe you could remove the outline from the decline button?..
