If it helps, at the moment with cats only being able to reach level 4 and go to the Heart of the Woods, the metagame at this point means that some of the best team structures to go for when you're starting out are Fighter Squads. 3-4 cats set to Fighter, with possibly 1 cat as a Scout or Bard for the Call to Action/Rally abilities and the initiative /bravery boosts respectively. Having a cat set to Fighter gives that cat an advantage on Melee attacks by improving dice rolls! So you often do a lot more damage.
I can see some of your team are already level 3! It's probably a good idea to continue until you hit the level 4 cap, as your dice values improve then (base attacks go from 1 damage to 2 damage, and critical hits go from 2 damage to 3 base damage). After that, I'd recommend levelling everyone to at least level 1 in the Fighter Class to give them Bite instead of Scratch.
You can mix and match abilities from all classes!
Then up to level 3 in Thief, for Hide + Backstab, and then your choice of 4th move from whichever class you find is interesting.
Once you've got a solid team up to level 4, you can start experimenting with different team compositions. I now run a team that's 1 Scout and 3 Rangers, and I now gain more bolts back from Adventuring than I use up!
I'd also recommend that you encourage your Adventuring party to be friends with each other! There are guides for Scenarios for which options give you a chance at a Relationship+ prompt, or items you can craft once the Library has been made/buy from other users, to manually assign a relationship.
This is because of the Harmony bonus! Each heart of Harmony a cat has with its teammates adds another point of damage to a critical hit.
Friendship and most Family relationships (parent-child, siblings, etc.) grant 1 heart each.
Important Relationships, such as Partners, Best Friends, and Littermates grant 2 hearts each.
Rivals grant a withered heart, which boosts hits on withered dice, but at the moment it's hard to have dice be withered!
Harmony is currently capped to level as of right now, but will eventually max out to 6 hearts per cat. It's very useful!
Tl;dr: Your Adventuring Team is still finding its feet, and you've likely not unlocked a large swathe of the game yet!
