Not every cat is happy on not-Earth, and not every cat wants to go back; how do you reconcile two different needs?
Lodestar seeks to answer this question, not through any grand event, but through allowing everyone to find their own guide, their own goal... their own lodestar.
The village is a collective of different cats with different needs, ideas, and desires. Together, however, they make friendships, form families, and - most importantly - support each other in their different goals. Some cats want to be strong; others seek to build up to the doorway and return to Earth; still others want to explore every inch of this new world and map it out.
Regardless of your goal, so long as you have a guiding light, you are welcome at Lodestar. Even without a goal, you're welcome, as you can help others and maybe even discover a purpose here. And, more than that, this village is eager to support other villages in their goals as well. Lodestar's ideals are that of friendship, unity, community, and support.
꧁Out of Character꧂
I'm Kunabee, also known as Shiloh Osheen (this is my pen name, not my real one). I'm a published poet and I love cats. My pride and joy is my cat Cinnamon. I'm 27 years old, and still working on figuring out what to do with my life.
Writer
I feel like this is fairly self-explanatory. I'm a writer, specifically a poet, and then I'll write prose too. All of my cat bios will, eventually, be fully filled out by me, and I plan to have a thread full of additional works relating to my not-cats and their village in the Creative forums. 'Eventually'. Don't keep up high hopes I am very slow and easily overwhelmed. Inspiration is high, motivation is low, and when the inspiration font dries up I am a Lump.
Asexual
I'm asexual, which basically just means that I don't experience sexual attraction. Nothing more and nothing less.
Quoiromantic
Since I'm quoiromantic, I struggle to differentiate between platonic and romantic affection. I consider this to put me on both the aromantic and biromantic spectrums, and will use all three terms + panromantic fairly interchangeably.
Polyamorous
I'm polyamorous. I have high compersion (joy at other people's joy, contentment knowing the ones you love are happy) and low jealousy, so it suits me to know my partners may be getting their needs met elsewhere. I also consider friendship and romance and everything else to be fluid; I set my relationships in ways that work for me and those I'm with, regardless of what expectations might be. I do prefer having labels since labeling relationships let me know what the other person expects of me generally though. Being polyamorous frees me of monogamous expectations in a way that increases not just my happiness, but the happiness of those I love.
Nonbinary
My gender is outside of the binary of "man" or "woman". I am, fundamentally, a Kunabee/Shiloh. I use they/them, ne/nem and it/its pronouns, and I don't mind if you pick one and stick with it or if you alternate; I'm very adaptable about it. I have done some physical transition and am exploring/experimenting with further medical and social stuff.
Schrodigender
Aaand here's my microlabel! Beyond just being nonbinary, I'm specifically schrodigender - as you might imagine, it has a lot to do with the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment. That is: when unobserved, my gender is both there and not there. Beyond that, it changes whenever I do observe (pay attention to) it. When I think of my "gender", I can get anything from "almost boy"/"almost girl" to "the deepest part of the ocean" or "a mountain forest in winter" if I'm not getting "gender? no thanks". It's variable, and I never know what I might get until I'm thinking about it. It's a specific type of genderfluidity that suits me.
Autistic
I'm Autistic, which is fundamentally tangled with all of my other identities. My Autism is a huge part of why I am the way I am, and makes me view the world in specific ways.
Disabled
Autism, as much as I love being Autistic, is disabling. It makes it hard to go out and do things like shop or hold down a job. Beyond that, I also have complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD), chronic depression, generalized anxiety disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and sleep apnea. Basically "I am in pain all the time, am tired all the time, and can never freaking sleep."
Endogenic Plural/Multiple System
I'm part of a multiple or plural system. I have several headmates. We have a non-disordered plurality, so no DID or OSDD. I also call it "endogenic", but really it's "mixed origin" - my headmates have come from several places (including trauma splitting), although we're pretty sure I was... well, okay. I'm not the first one in the body, but it's "my" body to an extent, and I am stuck in the driver's seat. My headmates aren't really interested in this game, but I may mention them from time to time, especially Nisa (any, literally Does Not Care, we originally knew her as she/her and so stick with that), Enigma (she/her), and Zuri (he/him and it/its). You're also free to ask to talk to Eni or Zuri at any time, although the other two (Nisa + one unmentioned here) are not social and all of us would prefer you leave them be lol.
