Forest Town
About
Founding Date: Summer 43, Year 7 (February 17, 2023)
Population: 36
Location: Deep In Nestor’s Wood
Forest Town is a small, 2-year-old town, aptly-named for its location in the middle of Nestor’s Wood. The cats are dedicated to building it into a bustling community, and friendly to newcomers. They also frequently visit Nestor.
Adventuring Party System
One of the earliest cultural traits the cats of Forest Town have developed is their unique system of adventuring parties. Cats are placed in “parties” consisting of four cats whenever four adolescent or adult cats that do not yet have parties are accumulated. These cats form patrol units that usually adventure, explore, or handle other pressing issues together. This is meant to encourage close relationships between cats so that they work better together. Currently, eight adventuring parties have been filled.

Government
On the date of the building of the Village Lodge on Autumn 7, Year 9, the cats established their only current official government position, the mayor, and held their first mayoral elections. Future mayoral elections will be held on the 7th of every season. A not-cat may not hold multiple consecutive terms as mayor, but may hold as many terms non-consecutively as they are willing to. Any adult may be nominated by anyone adolescent or older, though they can choose not to run, and voting is compulsory for adolescents and up.
The mayor has the ability to appoint cats to the positions of doctor, innkeeper, merchant, teacher, and mail carrier, and remove them if they feel they are not performing their job accurately. They also have the final say in disputes, though decision-making is still ultimately communal.
