This is the very place where the first seed of Mikewood village was planted (Literally and figuratively).
Mikey, along with his party of friends, was a little lost when they arrived from Earth.
Although they were "home", it was a whole new world out there. Where would they even start? They would've had to build everything from the ground up. There were no abandoned human shelters, no alleys or tunnels to hide in. They had to start anew.
They all spent weeks wandering aimlessly, resting in hollowed out logs or in bushes, only rarely falling asleep in fear of danger... Many of them started feeling a little hopeless, but Mikey was sure to cheer them up at least a little.
One evening, when everybody was already sore and tired from their travels, Mikey registered something up ahead. For just a brief moment he was sure he saw something floating above the tall treetops.
Mikey insisted that they should follow it, even though it was leading them off of their decided path.
The next few hours everyone was alert, sometimes seeing glimpses of the "thing" and they were following it through thick underbrush until.... They found a clearing.
Strange monoliths and large cat statues were arranged in a circle, crumbling stone tablets lying on the ground beside them. There were symbols carved into the stone and all over the monoliths. The Not-Cats couldn't really decipher them, but as strange as they were, they didn't feel alien. Was this some hidden part of their history?
It was settled before anyone could even find the words to ask. This will be their new actual home.
They set up camp not far from these statues, just to the north- A forest full of old trees and dotted with giant mushrooms. The area was perfect for our little settlers- small caves and hollow trees suddenly changed into little homes, the verdant grass became a carpet for the softest of paws, and the river being so close to all their homes was just the cherry on top.
Many more lost Cats would later find this place and help it grow into what it is now. Buildings were being erected, budding flowers would later become lush gardens, beans became adults...
Finally, a place to call home.
