Nothing at the moment, I have a really hard time keeping my interest these days. I can store a book and be like, less than fifty pages from the end, and then all of a sudden just put it down for no real reason. I have no clue why, other than that my focus just chooses the most inconvenient possible time to switch. crying

i used to be soooo bad about that weary honestly i recommend using an app that tracks ur reading (i use book breeze) and setting urself a time or pages per day goal ! like i said i read for half an hour a day, and i've breezed through books — currently reading book #14 for the year teehee it also helps me personally to have my overall stats, streak, etc all in one place, it's very motivating sparkles

Congrats on the reading streak! Despite my love of stories, I'm normally terrible with reading books, but lately my English class has been motivating me so I've already finished two this year! cheer

Right now I'm reading a book called The Thread That Binds, by Cedar McCloud, which is absolutely amazing?? The main premise of the story is that the main characters work at a library where all of the books are made by hand, and will never age; only being destroyed by fire and water. Also, all of the books have spirits inside of them that can be talked to! It is very very cool. Also, the book uses a lot of neopronouns which I find awesome, and which are also incorporated very heavily into the lore and worldbuilding of the story. And the main characters are in a QPR, and overall the book is super diverse and probably the most inclusive thing I've ever read?? I'm in love (sorry for the slight ramble I am very excited about this book)

@Night Okay that sounds utterly amazing. I really, really want to read it now. I rarely see nonbinary characters in books, even when I do find ones with queer characters. Neopronouns? QPRs? Sign me up!

I know I just said I haven't read much lately, but I went to the library today and got three graphic novels. One is a collection of short stories by various different authors, called Flight, and it's really fun. I'm not very far in though.

I actually went in because I wanted to finish a book I sadly had to stop reading about a year ago: On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden (spaceships! Women in love! A nonbinary character who doesn't speak!) Can't wait to actually finish it this time. hug

There's also Home Time by Campbell Whyte, which I literally just started like two hours ago and am almost finished with. Oops. teehee

Edit: I apparently can't type, whoops. weary

It's been on-off for how much I read daily, but I've been making my way through rereading the bulk of my favorite author's books. The author is Tamora Pierce. Currently I'm halfway through Squire, the third in its quartet, Protector of the Small. (The quartet itself is the third in the greater universe it's set in, though in my reread I skipped one for the moment because I want to read the physical books I have before turning to my ebooks.)

Part of why I love these books so much is that every single protagonist in this one of Pierce's universes has at least one animal companion that is a significant character. And unlike the others, in Protector of the Small said companions do not talk (in a way the pov character can understand, at least) but their actions make their thoughts clear, regardless. (Like how her contrary, meanspirited horse tries to bite almost anyone who approaches him except the main character or people who literally have magic that helps horses/animals like them.)

ive been on and off reading house of leaves, which, is really incredible. curse ADHD for not allowing me to finish it yet. i really love that its a mix of horror (of the unknown, but in a way, identity too) and a love story

ive also just finished the seventh volume of blood on the tracks recently, and i think it HAS to be one of the best depictions of parental abuse, esp the psychological elements of it. incredibly sad. another manga im almost finished with is beastars, but personally i think it suffers from being written volume to volume

also, how do you think warrior cats stands up as a series for an adult going into it? i was always curious as a teen, but im still considering jumping into it

i think it's definitely still enjoyable even as an adult! i'd never read anything past the first arc but i loved bluestar's prophecy and have loved what i've read so far of firestar's quest hug if ur wanting to read the whole series it's definitely a big thing to jump into but i recommend it! sparkles
