My adventuring team is built for one area (streams), and I have a tendency to accidentally choose cliffs even though I don’t intend to go there. There’s a couple toggles now for automatic selections, so I think a useful one would be to select an area to automatically go to, blocking out the other option in some way. It can simply be removing the visibility of the other option (which I’m sure could be done with adblock, but I use mobile so I don’t have that option) if the amount of clicks shouldn’t be lowered any more than it already is. I’m thinking something like how the 4th area only has one option to choose, you could have a toggle that makes the 2nd and 3rd area similar. (The toggle options could be none/choose, cliffs, streams)
I suppose this isn’t the most future proof thing for other areas, but I imagine we’ll only have HOTW for a really long time, so this is just a minor QOL suggestion

Yeah unfortunately this is definitely not possible for future-proofing reasons. I've been very, very careful to design adventuring so that adding a new location would take zero code work (all front end data entry). Right now, a new adventuring location wouldn't even require putting the site into maintenance.

Specific-to-one-location things like this would take considerable code-meddling and will cause major problems the moment location 2 comes out.

I figure most of this is because people are kind of pacing in their enclosures with very little adventuring enrichment. I really feel quite bad for not being able to serve you all more locations in a more timely manner, but I am hoping that with beta wrapping up soon, we're getting very close to a point at which they can become more a regular addition!

I'm kind of desperate to draw some new monsters.

Squid - could possibly the choice be made into radio buttons with a single button to click, or any kind of select-then-click where browsers could save previous selection? It might keep everything data-only and still give us a little less misclick?

If this isn't possible and Adventuring is only going to have at most 2 possible paths, maybe a simple "option 1" or "option 2" toggle? That way it isn't location-specific and you can change your settings before Adventuring in that zone if you plan to be there for a while.

They are indeed capable of being majorly different. "Transition encounters" are their own encounter type that can be placed anywhere with any number of options. Basically, an adventuring location could be a building with a large array of hallways and doors to navigate through and explore, or a set single path with no options, or anywhere in-between.
