Yeah a compromise could be just making it as direct as the OM. Listing X item for Y item and making an immediate 1:1 trade
Or even multi item trades, but still at a direct “Click here to get now” functionality

As for this. It's not just currency. You can offer items, cats, and currency all at once. You can offer anything thats tradable for anything thats tradable. Its not a currency thing at all. Making it stand out from om and crb due to those being set currency, no offers, and no other tradable items

The threads are a mess and I seen games do this before while having sales threads, and flat sale areas and work fine, and its alot neater and cleaner than just threads and flatsales. I wouldnt have made this post if I didnt know how it felt to struggle with the painful threads and such. I cant read well with massive walls of text (Which is why you see so many errors in my text) and im sure alot of others struggle to. And threads are just that. Walls of text + many of comments to read through for me to most likely overlook unless I highlight every single word.

Its one of the main reasons I either just sell any cat at floor price despite rarity instead of putting the rare ones up for offers. Im more likely to send a albino I dont want to the city than trying to do anything with threads cause of how messy and stressful it is. Sure I can do crb but I still have to guess how much to sell it for. With this system and I can just put it up, And people and put offers I can check anytime, pick any then and there. And no massive thread to clean up or read through anytime someone talks for any reason I cant stop.

I'm more inclined for the system Dark proposed than the original idea. I also don't like "just offer multiple different trades" as it can get extremely messy and spammy.

I dont see how it would be any More messy than the mass amount of messages you get for putting things up on the om one at a time and they sell.

Because you consent to those. The sales notifications is developer-side (as in, nothing we can do about it, since that's just the system in place) and forums specifically look for posts. However, I've not seen a single case of one user flooding someone's sales thread.

It would be easy for someone to just continually send in trade offers if there's no restrictions. And how do you even restrict it so people can't just toss a bunch of lowballed offers? If people can set their trades to be private then onlookers would be none the wiser.

As a comment for restricting trades to only allow certain things to be offered, I worry about the information overload there. I'd likely not use it for that. Dark's system is also just better because many people do 1:1 trades (fantail for fantail, planks for paints, etc.) which makes it more efficient.

Could add a restriction limit, not saying there wouldn't be one just ideas,and have a option to remove those types of notifications. As for the consent you also consent to getting pings for offers when people offer when you put up the post in the first place. I dont see a difference here between consent over om and this. I understand 1:1 trades happens alot but also people just wanting to see offers or looking for things that wouldn't be easy to know what you would want in exchange. This hits alot more things people need than 1:1.

Im no coder, I dont know how hard it would be for all of that. I just know I have seen this system work before, its not exact but referenced
