@Rurus Yeah, we don't look up whether someone's won before or not when reviewing them. For the most part, the review happens username-blind as the bulk of it is spent wiggling screenshots around in an oversized google slide presentation. teehee So when winners are chosen, we really don't even know who made them.

The judging process looks like:

  • We go through every page and pull out urls for our top 60-70 or so submissions, no more than one per person to ensure nobody wins twice in an opening. We typically try to pick ~(# of pages x3) finalists for the full review.
  • Screenshots of all those submissions get put in a google slide presentation and we slide them around and sort them by color and theme.
  • Agonizing torment wiggling them about and engaging in thrilling debate. For the snails we rotated some of them sideways so it looked like they were crawling all over the page. snail laughing


The whole thing takes us like ~6 hours or so, it's a whole day (or two half days) affair.
