I support countershading as well, it would enable me to try to make my cat in the game and just in general give cats a more unique look. Basically all of the ideas in this thread are wonderful, but that's one of my favorites so far.

An idea of my own: Maybe when we get to the mountains and pines on the map in the future, we could get cats with like an ultra-long fur type that's more extreme than the realistic length longhairs we have now, to withstand the extreme temperatures.
